The Wordeater Student Editorial Board The Wordeater Student Editorial Board is composed of JJC students who review submissions from the JJC Community and make decisions on the content and give input on the design of the current print and e-zine editions. The initial review of submissions as they arrive is completed using an ANGEL group discussion forum. This review and initial virtual discussion prepares the editors for a single productive meeting, usually on a Friday evening a week after the submissions deadline [the third week in October & March]. Some final decisions may also take place through the discussion forum or email. Editors are allowed to submit their work, but do not personally review it. Being an editor is valuable experience for creative writers and artists, and particularly for those students who desire a career in publishing, graphic arts, editing, or journalism. It's also fun and you meet other like-minded creative people! See a print copy or an e-zine at www.wordeater.org for examples of past issues and more details. There is also an Information Meeting early in each semester to meet other editors, student workers, contributors, and the Advisor. You must receive some training from the Advisor if you have never edited before! |
